Stephen West Mystery Knit Along 2026 - Color Kaleidoscope!
The most anticipated KAL of the year is back.
Join us for the Stephen West Mystery Knit Along 2026, a global celebration of colour, creativity and community. Each clue is revealed week by week, keeping you on the edge of your seat (and your needles). We'll be knitting along together right here at Crofters Yarn, sharing progress, cheering each other on and revelling in the big reveal.
This is Crofters Yarn fourth annual Westknits Mystery Knit Along.
Choose your own colours, let us help curate your palette, and knit the mystery together with Adam and Aurora.

Strut Your Stuff '26
Show us what you've made!
Strut Your Stuff is our annual Charity Knits celebration of everything our wonderful community members create.
A chance to show off your knitting, crochet and fibre creations, enjoy afternoon tea, raffles and a whole lot of fun, while helping us support our community charity knitting projects.
Bring your finished objects, share your stories and bask in the well-deserved admiration of your fellow crafters. All skill levels, all fibre crafts, all welcome.

Rocky Horror Wednesday
Let's do the Time Warp!
We're putting down our knitting needles, pulling on our fishnets and heading out for a night of Rocky Horror mayhem!
Join us for an evening with the fabulous Crofters community at the Rocky Horror Show.
Whether you're a seasoned Rocky veteran, a complete virgin, or somewhere wonderfully in between, come along for a night of outrageous fun, fabulous company and plenty of opportunities to unleash your inner Frank-N-Furter.
Costumes are encouraged. Singing is inevitable. Dancing may occur. And knitting?
Well... we are Crofters. We can't make any promises. 😂
Come dressed up, come as you are, bring your sense of humour and let's do the Time Warp together!

Christmas at the Croft
Our favourite gathering of the year.
Join us as we celebrate another wonderful year together with good company, festive treats and plenty of woolly conversation. Whether you've been with us since day one or have only recently discovered Crofters Yarn, we'd love to celebrate with you.

Persian Tiles Crochet Journey
A crochet adventure inspired by ancient beauty.
Dive into the mesmerising world of Persian Tiles, a stunning crochet journey that weaves together geometry, colour and craft. Guided step by step, this event is perfect for crocheters who love a project with depth and drama. We'll help you choose your colours, work through the pattern and create something truly extraordinary.
This is an event where we will teach you how to crochet and create a truly magnificent blanket. It will not be a quick journey.
We're gathering Expressions of Interest now so we can work out numbers, timing and how we'd like to run this one.

45°Fibre, Gore
A fibre festival at the bottom of the world.
Join us as we head south to 45°Fibre in Gore, a celebration of New Zealand fibre, makers and community. Whether you're a knitter, crocheter, spinner or dyer, this is a wonderful excuse to explore, connect and indulge in all things woolly. There are plenty of activities for the kids too.
We will organise a bus for this exciting trip down the Motu. Keep coming back for more information.

Knitting on the Train '27
All aboard for a woolly adventure.
250 knitters. Six carriages. One very woolly adventure.
Join us for our next Woolly Train Adventure, travelling on King's Birthday Weekend, with the Steampunk Festival happening in Oamaru too.
Grab your knitting bag and hop on board; Knitting on the Train is one of our most unique and joyful events. Travel through stunning scenery with your needles in hand, surrounded by fellow makers. It's the perfect blend of adventure and craft, with plenty of time to make progress on your project and make new friends along the way.
